General information

The Monitoring of Law Enforcement Journal was founded in 2012 by the Scientific Centre for Legal Information under the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. The journal is included in the List of Peer-Reviewed Research Journals of the Higher Attestation Commission (K2 quartile) for research specialties 5.1.2, 5.1.3, 5.1.4 “Legal Science” and 5.4.1, 5.4.4, 5.4.6, 5.4.7 “Sociology”.

The journal publishes the results of fundamental and applied research studies and ensures interdisciplinary interaction between scholars and specialists in such fields as Legal Science and Sociology. Due to this, the journal promotes the development of research dialogue, experience exchange, and integration of knowledge between different disciplines.

The editorial office adheres to the principles of academic rigour, topicality of published materials (papers), transparency of the reviewing process, and support for interdisciplinary research.

Sections: areas of research

The journal covers a broad scope of research in legal science and sociology. Special focus is given to papers promoting the development of research potential and introduction of innovative solutions.

The main sections of the journal include:

  1. Constitutional law
    The focus of the section is on research in the field of public law and legal regulation of digital technology. Questions of digitalisation of public administration, legal support for national security, international law in the digital environment, and human rights protection are considered here.

  2. Private law
    Problems in the field of civil, family, business, international private law and linked branches of law are under study in this section.

  3. Criminal law
    The theory of criminal law, criminology, criminal procedural law, penal law, criminalistics, forensic examinations, criminal intelligence operations, its methodology are studied here. Classics’ theoretical approaches, in modern readings, that is, applying them for studying the present, are also published.

  4. Sociology
    In this section, papers are published covering new methods of mathematical statistics analysis of empirical data, development of qualitative methods for analysing information of social nature, questions of demographics, social patterns in economic development, as well as critical analysis and development of modern theoretical and methodological approaches in general and special sociology (theoretical studies) and new areas of sociological research, development of new methodological approaches to collecting, registering, and generalising empirical data.

  5. Sociology of management
    Papers on social mechanisms and ways of managerial impact on the society, its key spheres (economy, socium, policy, mentality), social groups and organisations, as well as on the consciousness and behaviour of people are published here.

The journal sections are being constantly expanded. The editorial office encourages works contributing to the development of research potential and creates conditions for presenting research results by authors with different research experience levels, including beginning researchers. Special attention is given to papers having practical importance and contributing to popularisation of academic knowledge within the professional community.

The journal is intended for a broad scope of specialists interested in the development of modern legal science and sociology. The readers include: lecturers and researchers of universities of technology and legal higher education institutions, Ph.D. students, as well as practical specialists in the field of public administration, lawyers, and social workers.
